End of story.

If you're coming for a long session, leave your friends at home. Most tattoo shops don't have big waiting areas and there isn't much for your friend to do.

Let your artist dictate how much conversation will take place. You don't want to distract them. I know my artist pretty well now so we shoot the breeze while he works on me, but when he gets quiet, I just let him be.

Though everyone is getting tattoos now, still know that tattoo shops can be vulgar places. Not in decor, but in the way people talk. The shop I go to is very classy, but it's a bunch of good ole boys and F bombs drop like crazy. I've heard them tone it down if there are women in the shop, but just enjoy the discourse.

If you're feeling light headed, or a limb has gone numb, tell your artist. They're happy to give you breaks when needed. Other wise you'll pass out or something and that's just not cool.

Keep your appointments. Artists hate cancellations and hate when people reschedule because they're cell phone is due or they need rent money. Don't schedule the appt until you have the money.

Unless you personally drew your piece or a friend did, let your artist put their spin on it. That way you'll never end up with a tattoo that other people have. I have two Sailor Jerry tattoos, but I can guarantee you that I'm the only person on the planet with the two I have because I let Aaron personalize them.Wil Whalenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00296201893434427109noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4941417197681772709.post-31150760308926299852013-07-18T13:49:32.752-04:002013-07-18T13:49:32.752-04:00Yo, since you read my post on Facebook you may be ...Yo, since you read my post on Facebook you may be changing this, however, I have to chime in on Aquaphor. I find it as greasy and messy as vasoline and more greasy and messy than Tattoo Goo. I discovered After Inked After-Care Lotion. It's paraben free, fragrance free, gluten-free and non-petroleum based. It has grape seed oil in it and it absorbs right into your skin. No greasy residue at all. None. I have never had a tattoo heal faster than my last two while using After Inked. Almost completely healed in just about a week. Very little scabbing and peeling and it really makes them pop. It's the only lotion I'll use, though I will use Aveeno or something in a pinch, but will always have this stuff on hand. Especially since I'm finishing a sleeve in the next few months!Wil Whalenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00296201893434427109noreply@blogger.com
